Reviews of the Revised & Expanded Edition of Wheat Belly

Amazon reviews of the new Revised & Expanded Edition of Wheat Belly are coming in.

In the original Wheat Belly book, I focused mostly on the history of wheat from Natufian porridge to modern whole wheat bread, the dramatic changes in wheat introduced by geneticists and agribusiness, and the effects it has on modern health. In Wheat Belly Total Health, I outlined a program to undo the harm incurred by wheat consumption and additional steps to take to, for instance, reverse insulin resistance. In Wheat Belly 10-Day Grain Detox, I provided a step-by-step, day-by-day plan to follow the Wheat Belly lifestyle. And, of course, in the Wheat Belly Cookbook and the Wheat Belly 30-Minute (Or Less!) Cookbook, I provided hundreds of recipes to make this lifestyle tastier and more versatile.

And, given the worldwide experience that Wheat Belly has generated, new lessons have been learned along the way, particularly as it relates to hormonal changes, steps to take to make reversing type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure safer, and the microbiome. I_Love_Amazon: This Book Is An Eye Opener
I started avoiding gluten before it was a household word. I was never diagnosed with celiac, but I just knew I felt better without it. I found this out by accident when I started low carbing and just avoided gluten by default! All my arthritic symptoms, all my stomach problems and low mood just dissipated within three months. When I went off the diet and started eating wheat again, they all returned. When the first edition of Wheat Belly came out, I remember thinking to myself “ finally, someone really gets it.” I am so thrilled to have the revised version. Folk’s today’s wheat is not the wheat of our ancestors. I honestly now liken it to poison, and for a lot of us, it just is. This book is a gem.

Amazon Prime Customer: Incredible Book!
This is an incredible book and makes you never want to eat bread again! I listened to the Audiobook of the original version of this in 2014 and it was eye-opening, and this book underscores those findings. Next time you’re at the grocery store skip the bread aisle, and when you order your next hamburger order it without the bread! This book is a must-read for anybody who wants to kick the bread habit!

    Has anyone seen Dr. Oz’s diet called System 20? There are no grains or sugar. Everyone is getting on board with this. What took them so long? Thank you Dr. William Davis for getting the word out.

      New to me. Might fall in the category of: network TV will be the second to last to admit knowing (the last being the USDA).

      re: «There are no grains or sugar.»

      One summary page was clear about no added sugar, but merely oddly silent on grains.

      It’s also 16:8 IF, vaguely low carb, and has a calorie & portion size focus. I also didn’t quickly find any advice on fat types, or any words on common, serious, modern micronutrient deficiencies. So, not really very much like Wheat Belly or Undoctored.
