I have had Crohn’s Disease since 1974, and have used Prednisone and a sulphur-based medicine to treat this until I had ileostomy surgery in 1990. At the time of my surgery I was was at my sickest. Only weighed 94 lbs when I had it. Since surgery, I have felt wonderful, but have gone from 94 lbs to now weighing 165 lbs at 5’4″ tall, a bit stoggie to say the least. Would like to drop 20 lbs, and get my cholesterol and blood pressure in line (cholesterol is now 200+ and blood pressure is about 170 / 87.

My issue is digesting nuts ( I can’t – only almonds if chewed a long time), and I eat a banana every day along with toast in the morning, and a sandwich for lunch. I think I need some solid foods in my belly so I don’t have very loose bowel movements. That is probably why I am not losing weight, but when I work with the public, I do not want my ostomy to be “talking” all afternoon. (i.e. ostomy farts).

    What should I do?

  2. Hmm is anyone else encountering problems with the pictures on this blog loading?
I’m trying to determine if its a problem on my end or if it’s the
blog. Any feed-back would be greatly appreciated.
