Actually, every post and picture of someone who has escaped the lie of wheat, improved their health and spread the word about how wheat dulls the life out of people, is a winner in my book. I read each and every post and each one is energizing and encouraging. Melissa Ann looks wonderful and I am so happy for her but so does everyone else who submitted their stories. Take a bow folks! You are all truly great!

      Melissa Ann and Ann Huth,
I’d like to second your request! While this new way of eating is about new guidelines and understandings, it is equally about enjoying one of life’s basic pleasures – good, healthy food!
Melissa Ann you look great – and although we all respond individually to WB, would you share with us what worked best for you?

Great success story! As others have said previously, would be helpful to see a sample day of eating for these individuals so those of us attempting to lose weight can compare notes.

here’s an email I received today. Hi Steve: First of all, thanks for the information on Wheat Belly and the effects of gluten. Donna and I went off wheat right away. I have lost five pounds in the last week and Donna has lost four. You know we actually feel a lot better.

  7. Loanne

Melissa Ann does look wonderful!! I’m more interested in how she FEELS and what has changed in her life. Melissa Ann, care to comment on all the changes?

  8. She’s done a great job by coming off wheat etc. I have been a unsolicitated spokes-person for this plan now ever since I too began to see great things happening with my body. I’m not a “techy” person so haven’t the knowledge on how to post “before and after” photos on the site. Wish I could!! That said…I know of a handful of folks who, because of my success (so far) have come over to doing the W.B. plan as well!!!

  9. Wow, that’s amazing Melissa, congratulations on your achievement :). I hope you’re enjoying your new wheat-free lifestyle! Best regards.

    Hi there

I met some friends on Tuesday night for dinner and one of them told me about the Wheat Belly Book after I mentioned how tired I feel and how big stomach feels by the middle of each day. I came straight home and bought it on Amazon. I can’t put it down. I’ve been on diabetic, cholesterol, blood pressure medications for 10years and I’m only in my early fifties. I weigh 75 kilo and Although Ive only been wheat free for 3 days, I’m hopeful that this time next year I will be healthier and lighter and perhaps diabetes free! All these remarks are so inspiring!

Welcome Rianna, and please do contribute your experiences on your journey to good health. When you’re through reading the book start in on the left side panel of conditions. Contributors bring up many issues within those discussions and it’s great. Good luck and happy blood work!

Thanks for the kind welcome and follow on after the book advice…I will definitely do that, in fact I started checking out some already! Scary, but interesting stuff!!!! Wish I knew about this before….oh well, better late than never hey!

I have been wheat free for 5 months. I started out great… All my aches and pains are virtually gone.. I have had pain and swelling in my feet and ankles for as long as i can remember. My IBS is gone, my anxiety and depression has greatly improved. I have lost 19 pounds. ( all of this in the first 3 1/2 months). I am now at a standstill and have been for 6 weeks with not losing anything. Anyone have any ideas how i can “shock” my body into getting rid of the weight again?

Congratulations to Melissa! It was the article about Melissa in the January 6, 2014 edition of “First for women” magazine that inspired me to really go wheat free and buy the book. (It hit the shelves in December.) I ordered “Wheat Belly,” “Wheat Belly cookbook,” “30-minute Wheat Belly cookbook,” and the wheat belly journal the next day. I don’t have a lot of money to spend, but I just knew that this was important. My doctor had been telling me to go wheat & dairy free, but without any reason given. So I had tested being wheat free and felt that I might feel better. Though I didn’t see great results, I kept at it pretty consistently through Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mid December, at my check-up, I was the same weight that I had been 6 months before. I felt discouraged, but the nurse congratulated me on not gaining weight through the holidays. (For my family, we also had 10 birthdays & birthday parties in that same 6 months!) On my 58th birthday, New Year’s eve, I made the hard core decision to fully go wheat free even though I didn’t have my books yet. In 26 days, I have lost 5 pounds, 2 1/2 inches off my waist, 1/2 inch off my hips, 7/8 inches off my bust! On purpose, the only change I made was a consistent removal of wheat from my diet. I’m fairly milk free now, so I’m going to add in 30 minutes of daily walking for the next 30 days. Yesterday, I finished reading “Wheat Belly” and there is no turning back! Thank you Dr. Davis for both the science so beautifully presented and the life-changing stories.
